With all the sickness that has invaded our house, I thought this little home remedy would be good for a Tuesday Tip.
Whenever there is a sore throat around here, we go with a Hot Toddy, be sure you've done everything you wanted to do for the night cause its night-night after this one!
In a large mug mix:
2 oz Burbon
2 oz lemon juice (1/2 lemon, squeezed)
2 oz water (optional)
1 Tablespoon honey
Mix well and Microwave until hot, 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Drink and go to bed!

Baby Memory Quilt
She gave me this...
And I gave her this...
What sweet memories have been saved in the quilt!
I took 30 baby
outfits and created this 32x42 quilt.
The mom wanted it bordered and
backed with purple.
This quilt has been machine quilted around each
block. I love how it turned out!

Tuesday Tip 45
This is similar to a tip I posted at the very start of Tuesday Tips. I showed you that you can organize garden flags with pants hangers. This idea springs from that.
I took all the panels that I have collect from various quilt shows and shops and clipped them up with pants hangers. I also had a panel that I wanted to cut into squares, so I went ahead and cut them and then clipped them all together. I really like this new system!

Go Buy This Now!
This stuff is amazing! Its $4.99 at Trader Joes. All you have to do is bake it in the oven, toss with the delicious sauce that is included and serve over rice. Dinner is done and you will be amazed at how wonderful it is! They say it is their #1 best selling frozen food and I now know why!

Wowzers... Not for the weak stomached
This is my right hand pointer finger. It is hard to tell in this picture but that thread is inside my finger. I was sewing along and the machine caught my finger, went in and broke off. You can't see it in this picture but the very tip of the point is sticking out the other side. I quickly drove to the local urgent care, which said, "No way, go to the ER"
After waiting awhile I was given a few xrays. Here's the best one.
You can see the needle in the tip of my finger. You can't see it but it's still threaded and the thread comes out the other end. Insane.
So a TB shot was given and 3 painful injections of lidocane to numb my finger, thread trimmed even with my skin and my husband and I watched the doctor pull the needle out, still threaded.
Here it is...
For added gross factor, I was using white thread. It's red from blood.

Fabric Finds
Matt and I had a great trip to the beach this week. I had looked up quilt shops before we went with hopes of getting to one or two. Lucky for me I was able to go to both stores that were near our area!
Look at this great loot I found! All yard or 1/2 yard cuts. That cute little Eric Carle caterpillar is 44 inches long, there's a sunrise you cannot see folded under. He was an amazing find :)
I also found these precious girl prints... Purses, dots, and little girls. So sweet!
I am thinking of little baby quilts to sell out of these :)

Craft Fair
I did my first craft show today. It was a great experience and hope to do more!
Here's a look at my tent from the front. I just love the appliqued sign I made.
I wish I would have brought a bigger table and had a neater tablecloth...
You can see my t-shirt quilt hanging in the background.
Up close of the table with the bib and burp cloth sets. I also had an apron for sale along with my photo book.
Here's my Christmas Quilt and a view of the capes and onesies hanging up.
For next time I want to make a fitted tablecloth, have a little sign for the t-shirt quilt so that people know that it is made of t-shirts, and maybe smaller price frames and a better way to hang the onesies...

Sew Sew Saturday
I
have been "sew" busy lately! I am preparing for a craft show on Sunday
so I have been sewing like a crazy person! Here is a little peek at
what I've been up to :)
This
is the Little League Quilt. I
gathered these shirts to make a sample to take with me to this craft
fair and to have on hand for people to see and feel when they are trying
to decide if they want a t-shirt quilt made (you do, you know you do)
;) I
have wanted to do one of these type of quilts for a long time. I think
it would be neat to have a quilt made up of your child's sports
shirts. What great memories!
Here is an up close with the corner turned up so you can get a little peek of the back...

I also made some burp cloth and bib sets. I am in love with these little boy prints...
The dinosaur bib and burp cloth are backed in a soft red flannel.
The robot set is backed with soft royal blue flannel
Little girl sets. I have 2 of the brown and pink strips. Each burp cloth is striped on one side, soft chocolate brown on the other. The bibs are striped on one side and brown and white dots on the opposite. They are reversible.
In the middle we have a fun floral print. The burp cloth is backed in a white t-shirt material and the bib is backed in hot pink.

And I can't forget the capes!
Each have colored Velcro closures at the neck and are the perfect weight for flying around the house!
Whew! I still have onesies and dog bandanas to make... Back to the sewing machine!

Spring Strings
I am in love with my newest quilt. I just love everything about it.
The colors, the pattern, the binding, the quilting, etc, etc, etc. I
even love the back! It is machine pieced, machine quilted, and hand
bound.
